Cole Kozmenski has been a proud and valuable member of our Labourer Team at Sterling Ridge Group. Cole has just completed 13 straight weeks on the road, working in Bracebridge, installing fibre cable and was back working on our Kingsville site. On June 30th, Cole suffered a seizure after work and while at home. He became unconscious and was sent to the hospital by ambulance, where they performed a series of tests. At first, the thought was dehydration or heat stress, but his CAT scan revealed that he had a "tangerine" sized tumour on his brain. A further MRI was taken the next day, and under the guidance of the neurosurgeon, it was determined that the tumour must be removed. On July 14th, Cole underwent a 6 hr & 40-minute open skull brain surgery. The surgery was successful, and the entire tumour was removed. Cole spent some time in ICU, and recently the 65 staples holding his skull together after surgery were removed at the Suture Clinic at the hospital. Cole is now resting at home with his partner "Sarah" and their 5-month-old son "Parker." Cole has a long road of rehabilitation in front of him, and he is very optimistic about his recovery and wants to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers. A couple of weeks after surgery, Cole went to the Cancer Clinic to learn more about his next steps. The results came out that he needed Radiation and Chemotherapy. He will go through 30 sessions of Radiation and Oral Chemotherapy (pill form). After undergoing Oral Chemotherapy and Radiation, Cole may experience various physical and emotional effects. During this challenging time, Cole will be surrounded by his loved ones to help manage his symptoms with proper care and support. Cole will be 26 years old in August and is a proud member of LIUNA 625. He also wants to thank everyone "at the hall" for their assistance. Cole and his family are incredibly grateful for each and every donation they receive. The funds will be used to cover medical bills and to help support them during his recovery time. Cole is a hard worker, and the donations will supplement his income while he is unable to work. They are overwhelmed by the generosity of those who can donate and want to express their sincere thanks. They are confident that with the support of their community, they will be able to get through this challenging time and come out even stronger on the other side. Sterling Ridge Group is asking all employees and anyone else who Cole's story has touched to consider donating to help Cole and his family during this difficult time. Your support and generosity are greatly appreciated, and we hope that together we can make a real difference for this deserving family. Thank you for your consideration and willingness to help. At Sterling Ridge Group, we value every one of our employees and hope that you will help us financially in assisting Cole in his time of need.
