I have been a music teacher at RMAE for ten years and am passionate about teaching.  The past few years have been difficult for me due to back problems.  I will turn 70 soon and have been diagnosed with spinal stenosis and multi-layered scoleosis.  I have been putting off surgery due to the invasive nature and long recovery time of back surgery.Recently, I heard about a laser surgery that is not invasive and offers a much shorter recovery time. There are only seven Spinal Laser Institutes in the U.S. and I will have to travel approximately 1,000 miles to have this done.  My insurance company will not cover any of these expenses. The condition of my back has reached a severity that makes it nearly impossible to continue teaching. However, I am not ready to retire.  I love my kids, their parents, the school, and do not want to give up this career that I so dearly love.Thank you for your consideration.Warm Regards,Claudia Bloom
