My brother Chris and sister-in-law Shannon have been trying to have a baby and grow their family for 7 years and have encountered many roadblocks along the way. After years of trying, they pivoted to adoption and were quickly picked to adopt a baby girl in California. They spent many months planning for this baby and put much of their heart and life savings into the process. In the final hour, the birth mother changed her mind about adoption and we all were heartbroken. They've never wavered on their dream of growing their family and revisited fertility treatments and kept their adoption plans open. On a lucky Thursday they received a call from the California Adoption agency that a birth mother had chosen them when the adoptive family needed to back out. The birth mother was within days of her due date and by Friday night they had packed up their things and flown to California to be there for the baby's birth. Between adoption costs, an extended stay in California awaiting baby’s arrival, and unexpected expenses along with Chris being a small business owner and unable to work throughout their time in California, this has taken a toll on their finances. Silas McCarthy is here and I am reaching out and asking for help on their behalf. Anything you can contribute to help two people who have worked so hard to get here is more than appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read and considering helping out.
