Hey everyone, firstly welcome to the page! I’m Charlie’s sister, Louise and I want to start off by telling you about what’s been happening over the last few weeks. As some of you may already know Charlie was devastatingly diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer last month. After suffering with symptoms for quite some time and being fobbed off with other excuses after several hospital visits he finally got taken seriously last month when he arrived at hospital in a lot of pain. Several scans and tests later revealed a tumour in the colon. We have since been told it has spread with a couple of tumours on his liver now and modules have been seen on his lungs. We have been told that it’s incurable and that without treatment and change of lifestyle he will only have 18 months left to live. However we are choosing to ignore this and as a family and with the support of our friends and loved ones we are ready to fight to prolong his life as much as possible Charlie is starting chemo today (19/07/2024) and the plan is to try and shrink the liver tumours for surgery and possible surgery on the colon. We won’t know if surgery is possible until we see how he responds to the chemo. I have set up this page as I know there are so many people that have asked if they can help so this is a way to make it easier for that. Obviously Charlie can’t work at the moment, which is really stressing him out as he is so used to supporting his family and being the proud man that he is, he feels helpless right now. Charlie has just had twin girls, which makes this all the more upsetting to have happened now! We now want to be able to help Charlie make as many memories as possible. Some of you may know that Charlie spent most of his 20’s inside and now to have freedom, have his babies and then this to happen, it’s so cruel. Due to him being on license since release he has not travelled abroad since being a teenage. His licence does not end until 2025. Our plan is to use these circumstances to end his licence period early so that he can take his children away abroad. That would mean the world to him. If this can’t be done we would love to be able to make as many memories as possible in this country this summer, time is so precious! As a family, we are still in a state of shock and things have moved very quickly. We are still trying to get our heads around it all. I am currently researching alternative therapies we can try so if any one has any info or experience with these please get in touch. I am especially interested in knowing more about mistletoe therapy, although I know this is a very expensive alternative therapy. All money raised will go towards financial support for Charlie whilst he is out of work, making memories with his family and kids and towards any alternative therapies we find suitable. Thank you for taking the time to read this and we appreciate any help you can give at this trying time. I will update on here as much as I can, sharing Charlie’s journey. Lots of Love xx
