Charlee will be getting admitted into Stanford Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital to receive her stem cell transplant. Tuesday July 25th Charlee will be getting her Hickman Line placed, as well as be admitted (Day -10) . She will then be conditioned and prepped for her transplant on August 4 (Day 0). During this time she will be receive high doses of Chemotherapy, antibody’s, as well as a low dose of radiation before transplant (Day 0). We will be spending the next 4-6 weeks inpatient, then roughly around Day 30 if all goes to plan and Charlee’s body is able to regenerate the new red blood cells without risk of Graft vs Host disease she can be discharged from the hospital. At that time we will have to live locally in Palo Alto till earliest Day 60 post transplant before we can be released from Stanford to Valley Children’s to finish the 100 days post transplant. The next 4-6 weeks will be the most brutal treatments she has been through over the last 4 years since she was first diagnosed in September of 2018. During this time Casey will be flying/driving between Vegas, Palo Alto and Pismo. And I will be with Charlee full time during the next 100+days. update 8/19: Charlee is now Day +14 post transplant and showing signs of engraftment. Charlee is doing great both clinical and physically. The doctors have been so amazed at how Charlee has been through this whole process. She’s had her bad days with being sick from all the medicines and side affects from all the chemotherapy and radiation she received before hand. Yet she’s smiled every step of the way. Watching her go through this day by day has been a wild ride, but her upbeat attitude makes this process so much more bearable. Right now Charlee could use all the prayers and good vibes that as her new cells start growing in her body that her body doesn’t start rejecting them.
