It is hard to believe that Angkor Hospital for Children will celebrate its 25th birthday soon. I have been with Friends Without A Border from the very beginning when Kenro came up with an idea to build a hospital for children in Cambodia. It was challenging to get it off the ground when the only way to communicate with our staff there was spending hours in front of a fax machine (“what is that?”, my kids would say…). Through the work at Friends, I got to know how Cambodian people are friendly, beautiful, diligent and eager to learn. We are so proud of them for helping children at AHC and go beyond by making a difference in the healthcare of the country. I also got to know so many generous and kind individuals who offer their helping hands. I feel extremely lucky to have such a rewarding experience through Friends. I’m leaving soon to attend the 25th Anniversary in Siem Reap. It is my hope that I can raise some fund for AHC and share my experience on this trip with you. Thank you. Akiko
