On March 24th, my mom, Carrie Holiday, suffered a brain bleed/stroke. There were no signs, and she went from joking around to almost non-responsive. Thanks to quick intervention, a wonderful ICU at Grady Hospital, and the amazing rehab at The Shepherd Center, my mom is recovering, and after 3 months was able to come home. However, the recovery still continues. I've had many people suggest that I do a LFEBridge, but I didn't want to, however, I can no longer pretend that we do not need help. One of the things that was severely impacted was my mom's vision. As a result she will require specialized glasses. They are expensive, and not covered bt insurance. In addition, her insurance does not cover her Physical Therapy copays (which she has to pay 3 times weekly). Lastly, my mom's house, specifically the bathroom, is no longer adequate for her specialized needs. These are the major things, but there are other reoccurring needs. We have been blessed by so many people, but we still need help. My mom means the world to me, and I will sacrifice whatever I have to ensure she has EVERYTHING she needs, but it's a lot, and I don't have much more to give. Please, please, this is not for pity. I just want my mom to have everything she needs to continue to recover and live the life she deserves.
