Nobody should fight cancer alone; help us bring Ayse’s friends and family to hold her hand during her upcoming months of life-threatening cancer treatments! My friend Ayse is one of the most brilliant, passionate, and kind people I know. While living a healthy life, working as a researcher, and always sharing the most lovely smile, she was shocked by the words nobody wants to hear: “You have Cancer”. A young woman in her 30s, Ayse had the bravery moving across the world to pursue a PhD. and now a post-doc in the USA. She devotes her life to working in Psychology research with children and families. As you can imagine, being a Turkish lady in Science, implies a HUGE level of resilience, passion, and bravery. She is now using all of that energy to fight Breast Cancer, and survive brutal chemotherapies. I have been blessed to see her brave heart putting up with all of these treatments and preparing for the forthcoming second chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. Ayse has been walking through it all with immense optimism, and a even sense of humor. Her family and friends are now living in one of the most difficult economies in the world (Turkey), where a dollar is equivalent to a meal. It is impossible to afford the expensive trips, and all the associated costs both for her and her loved ones. Ayse deserves the most loving care during this time. Please help us reunite her with her loved ones, those irreplaceable hearts that can aid her healing more than anyone on earth! Your help is the only mechanism Ayse has right now to be able to have someone from her family to be with her. She needs company around the clock for six months: to hold her; to watch her sleep; to remind her how much she is loved; to take her there to the [very] scary appointments; and be there when she wakes up from surgery. The chances of Ayse recovering from this cancer will be so much higher if she is among those who can lift her spirits! And they are ready to embark on a 15+ hours trip to hug her! ANY DONATION HELPS! All funds will be dedicated to helping her during her cancer treatment and specifically to pay for transportation costs, so that she can have her family with her. Please consider donating or sharing! You can also leave words of encouragement. Your morning coffee? Your Friday dinner? Sunday Brunch? That amount can make a life-changing difference for Ayse. Not long ago she was a happy young, brilliant, and quirky researcher going out and about for that Friday dinner and making us all happy with her inspiring company. She will be back, and leave this all behind with your help!
