Iris' story: It is with sadness that I tell you that Leiomyosarcoma has returned to my body. A small mass was found in the pelvic wall in early May 2024 and my oncologist (and a second opinion) says it is inoperable. Their plan is palliative care: manage symptoms and “keep me comfortable.” We have been told by the oncologist several times that LMS does not respond well to chemo or radiation. The tumor is putting pressure on arteries, veins, nerves, muscles, intestines, etc. Unfortunately, the pain is steadily increasing making it very difficult for me to walk. I now use a walker in the house and a wheelchair was just dropped off today. I was in ER twice this week due to the pain. Surreal. We cannot believe how fast things are digressing! Especially because I feel fine and well, except for this pain! We have prayed often that God would shine His light on our next step. He has been faithful to walk with us and give us peace, even in grief and loss! Through a series of events and conversations with people unrelated to each other, we believe God is leading us to a holistic all-inclusive medical clinic that treats cancer patients with non-invasive alternative therapies. I’m not expecting them to work magic, but I do think it is possible to get relief and maybe shrink the tumor (or maybe get rid of it!) with less harmful therapies than those traditionally given. Would you please consider helping us pursue life and health? We would be so very grateful! And please, please pray for us and our dear family as we navigate this difficult journey one step at a time. I know we are in good hands. May God’s will be done. I have surrendered myself to Him for whatever His plan is. May my story, all of it, give Him glory. ~Iris and Arthur
