My amazing friends need help. Help is a funny word. Short and easy to say but so very hard to ask for when you’re a strong independent woman. Especially one that is at a point in her life when help is needed most; needed more than any other time in her life. My friend’s, Jamie and Alison, are fighting a battle for Alison’s life. Alison has breast cancer. She has endured almost 5 months of weekly chemotherapy treatments that have, thankfully, been successful at attacking the cancer enough to allow surgery. Alison is having a double mastectomy on August 28th. This is where my ask comes in, to help my friends. Jamie travels weekly, sometimes 2 to 3 weeks straight for work. Thankfully, Jamie has 2 weeks vacation and is able to take the full 2 weeks to care for her wife immediately following her surgery. But Alison will need more support for several weeks after Jamie has to go back to work. I’ve set up this GoFund Me to help Jamie and Alison with the things that need done while Alison is recovering and Jamie is traveling. Things like house work, meals (pre, cooking, and storing of left overs), lawn care, dog care, and some things I won’t know about until they are needed, things we take for granted and need done for Alison. Hiring people to help is a huge cost and one I would like to help Jamie and Alison be able to offset by raising money using GoFund Me. I did the math in my head and based on my calculations with everything that will be needed (meals, mowing, dog sitting, grocery shopping, making meals and storing them, driving to follow-up appointments, etc.) the cost I’ve come up with is $6500. If you are so inclined or feel compelled to help Jamie and Alison please donate any amount you see fit. The money will give Jamie peace of mind to know that, as independent (and stubborn like me) as Alison is, she won’t have to push her self too hard and beyond her capability during recovery to complete chores or exercise the dogs. This will also allow Alison’s body to heal. Even if you aren’t able to donate right now, please share. Please read below about my friendship with these amazing women and why I feel so strongly to help. If I could I would move in with them and nurse Alison to a full recovery. I met my friends, Jamie and Alison, in the fall of 2018 thanks to chance encounter that turned into an amazing job opportunity with a fantastic company. Jamie worked at the company and we made fast friends. I don’t know if you’re a spiritual believer or believe in past lives but I know Jamie’s soul and my soul have played out in the open sun drenched plains in swaying tall grass together, maybe as sisters, long before we were here in this life. Jamie is my soul sister and introduced me to her wife and love of her life, Alison. I have a different bond with Alison but just as strong as the one I have with Jamie. In short, these two amazing women have allowed me an insider’s view of their lives and welcomed me with open arms to friendships I never thought were possible in this day and age and I love them for it. If you could know them like I do you would understand how special they are and why I cherish their friendship. This is why they deserve help.
