I wanted to give an update on my beautiful sister Sarah. I am attaching her obituary below: Sarah Katherine Overstreet, born June 20, 1988, in Bartlesville, OK, to John Smithson and Sharon (Wooldridge) Smithson, passed away on August 6, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Sarah was raised and educated in Bartlesville, graduating from high school in 2006. As a child, she was active in dance and gymnastics, showing an early passion for movement and expression. She pursued higher education at Oklahoma State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in marketing and management. Sarah dedicated over ten years of her career to Enterprise, where she ascended to the role of branch manager. It was during this time that she met Nick Overstreet, who worked for a competitor. Their professional rivalry blossomed into a beautiful relationship, culminating in their marriage on January 16, 2016. The couple married in Exuma, Bahamas, where they also enjoyed their honeymoon. Sarah and Nick settled in Broken Arrow, where they lovingly raised their children, Landyn and Kylie. Sarah was a devoted mother and wife, known for her kindness and the ability to see the good in everyone. She was beloved by many for her warm heart and generous spirit. In 2024, Sarah found employment with Regent Bank as a loan accountant. Shortly after beginning her new role, she received her cancer diagnosis. Throughout her battle, Regent Bank was not only an employer but also a tremendous source of support and encouragement. The compassion and kindness shown by her colleagues during this challenging time were a great comfort to Sarah and her family. She had a passion for reading, enjoyed sipping wine by the pool, and cherished trips to the beach. Sarah was an avid animal lover and, despite her lack of interest in sports, was fiercely competitive in games of horse and minigolf, often claiming victory. Sarah is survived by her husband, Nick Overstreet; their children, Landyn and Kylie; her father, John Smithson and his wife, Jayne; her mother, Sharon Smithson; her siblings, Melissa Berning and her husband, Grant, John Smithson III and his wife, Kelly, Ashley Dyke and her husband, Case, and Jason Manning and his wife, Kelli; and her cherished cat, Mamba. She was preceded in death by her beloved cavalier king charles spaniel, Cooper, who was her companion for 13 wonderful years. Sarah's memory will be forever cherished by her family and friends, who will always remember her loving nature and the joy she brought into their lives.
