As many of you may know, throughout my life I have been very blessed because I have been lucky enough to have two moms: the one that gave me life and the one that raised me. I was fortunate enough to have these two wonderful women mold me into the person and the mother that I am today. Although I did not see my birth mom as often as I wished, I still loved her and was very grateful because she gave me life. After all, without her I would not be here today. I believe everything happens for a reason, and only God knows why he wanted things the way they were. My birth mom, Josephine Vargas, whom was born and raised in New York, married my father at a young age. She gave birth to me at the age of 21. When I was 3, my grandmother, America Vargas, passed away from a heart condition and my parents divorced. I believe that those difficult moments, pushed her into making drastic changes in her life. That's when my mother decided to move to California to pursue her nursing career. I was left behind until she was able to settle in. However, it became a difficult task and I stayed in New York for most of my life. At times, I did visit her but never stayed to live. My mom was a strong, independent woman, and besides having type one diabetes she lived a long life. Unfortunately, on Tuesday, October 20th, 2015, God decided to end her suffering and have her join him by his side in heaven. She was a Cali girl but always had her heart in New York. Due to financial reasons, I wasn't able to bring her back to her birth town before she passed, but I am hoping to finally bring her home now. In doing so, I kindly ask my family and friends to help me with a few unexpected costs. The donations will go towards the convalescent hospital where she was being cared for, the cremation, and the transferring process. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I sincerely thank you all in advance. "There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart."
