Hey everyone! As most of you know, our dad has been fighting for his life after contracting a case of legionnaires disease, a serious pneumonia. Having his family by his side has been his biggest ask and his biggest reason to fight. My sister Maggie had to take an emergency flight from Hawaii, leaving her four children and husband for two weeks, so far. Due to financial stressors, flying solo was her only option. It has been really hard watching my nieces and nephews express how devastated they are by the distance, when they just want to be with their grandpa and mother. Our dad desperately wants them here. After a scary night last night when our Dad’s vitals dipped extremely low, and after seeing my sister struggling so hard with the idea of leaving his side to return to her kids during this time of unknowns, and knowing my dad’s greatest wish has been to see his grandkids, I’m starting this gofund to see if we can support this wonderful family and help them get tickets home. None of us like to ask for help, but since so many people are asking what they can do to support my dad and our family during this crisis, the biggest gift to all of us would be finding a way to fly her family to Washington to be by their grandfather’s bedside.
