As many of you know my sweet sister and her family have found themselves in great need as her husband, Satch, an avid outdoorsman and adventurer, has had a terrible accident. On July 12th, while at work, Satch fell 40’ from a bucket truck and broke his back and neck. It is a miracle that Satch is alive, yet it is no coincidence that Satch is alive. His life has been preserved for a purpose! He is currently in the ICU with one spinal fusion surgery completed on his back, and at least one more to come on his neck. The restoration of all motor and sensory functions will be by way of miracles more than percentages, but thankfully, this family is walking this path by faith, not by statistics. Satch has been in a lot of pain, but by all signs and measures, he is still himself. He has been asking anyone and everyone who believes, to pray and agree that our God is not only capable of healing, but joyously willing to do so. Literally, every nurse, medical assistant, surgeon :) Of course he is! He’s even slipping his jokes into the conversations. Most people would call these devastating circumstances, and they wouldn’t be wrong… but if you know Bri and Satch, to them, this is yet another avenue through which they exist to live fully and generously in God’s immeasurable love. They are praying expectantly and praising God as they believe FULL healing and recovery are already underway. I, and so many of you, are partnering with them in prayer to these ends. So first and foremost, thank you for all the ways in which you have prayed, reached out, and supported the Schulzes already. From the bottom of my heart, thank you! God is, and will continue to be, glorified in this community! On July 1st, Satch and Bri packed up their house, rented it out and moved back to Leaburg Oregon as they felt called to be close to family and help with aging parents. They were planning on spending the month of July camping on our mom’s property while enjoying the summer weather and waiting for the rental home they had secured to free up. With Satch being their sole breadwinner and Bri staying home with their two little ones, Satch’s accident, only a few days into his new job, will undoubtedly upend their plans. So much is unknown right now, and it’s completely overwhelming. Without verifiable income, we’re not sure what will happen with the rental house, and we don’t know if that house will even meet their needs for Satch’s recovery. We’re hopeful that worker’s comp will cover a portion of the medical bills, but we don’t know yet… so on advisement, my operating assumption is that their need is greater than we realize at this moment. For now, we are focusing on making sure Bri and the kids can move out of the tents and into a rental home as planned. They need a stable home base for their family to figure out what the next steps are going to look like, so we are starting there. We are being told that even the miraculous path will be a long road. We are praying for the swiftest and most miraculous intervention. But the bottom line is, this family needs our help. Would you please consider donating to help them secure their housing for the next year? We can at the very least ensure that they have a home base. Any amount will mean the world to this beautiful family. We understand that not everyone can contribute financially, but you can still make a significant impact. We kindly ask you to share our story through social media, and community networks. Every share has the potential to bring us greater blessings to the Schulzes. Please message me if you feel led to help in any other way! We will need hands and feet too! I will update this as we go along this journey… but for now, please consider a donation, a share, and most importantly, keep praying for complete motor and sensory healing for Satch. Ps. Let’s fill this comments section with scripture, prayers, and encouragement for the family
