7/30/23 Update: Thank you all for your generosity and support towards Brendan! In just 3 days, we have successfully achieved our goal of raising $20,000! The Lauth family is humbled and grateful for such outstanding community support. Brendan said he is in great spirits, and feeling uplifted from all of the love he has been receiving. His treatment is continuing on a normal schedule, and his doctors are confident that he will be home soon. In light of the rapid success from this fundraiser, let’s try and reach $25,000. All funds will go directly to Brendan and his family to support him during his recovery. Thank you all again so much for your support, love and kindness to our beloved friend Brendan. *** We are raising money to support our amazing son, brother, and friend Brendan fight his battle with leukemia. Life unexpectedly changed for Brendan on July 18th, 2024, when he was diagnosed with APL (Acute promyelocytic leukemia). Since his diagnosis, Brendan has been receiving life-saving treatment at Stonybrook University Hospital. He will continue to remain in the hospital until his medical care team deems his treatment has been sufficient enough to continue care at home. If you have been fortunate enough to meet Brendan, you will know that his charismatic, loving, and positive personality will allow him to continue fighting strongly throughout his treatment. With his family and loved ones by his side, we are all confident that he will beat this and continue to be the outstanding person we know and love. All funds raised through this program will be used to finance Brendan's treatment throughout his battle with cancer, as well as personal/family expenditures that will be inflicted due to his extended care regimen.
