My name is Brenda and I am starting my life over at 55. I work odd jobs to meet my day-to-day expenses, but I will need help for the next step. I am enrolled at Glendale Community College and I plan to go through their Certified Nursing Assistant Program. This will be the first step in my long-term goal to work closely with Alzheimer's patients. This career choice will also give me the means to live out the rest of my working life and help to build some sort of retirement fund. There are expenses coming up immediately that financial aid will not cover. I will use these LFEBridge dollars for not only upcoming tuition and books, but right away for required immunizations, doctor fees, finger printing, and processing fees. I am also required to take a CPR class, pay State Nursing Board fees, and purchase supplies before class (stethoscope, watch, scrubs, nursing shoes, etc). This program means the world to me. My heart knows I belong working with people who can't help themselves and who need a voice and compassionate care. I believe I will be great at this. I have never been comfortable asking for help but realize my pride is getting in the way of my success. I am very thankful for any help I receive.
