I am creating this go fund me account to help with and hopefully be able to purchase custom breast prosthetics, bras, lymphdema sleeves and gloves. Most of you know that in 2010 I went through breast cancer and had my right breast removed and in 2018 I had my left breast removed. For the past 9 months I have been working with my insurance to try to get an approval for custom breast prosthetics. This week I heard that I have been denied for the third time. I had these type of prosthetics for 5 years. Over time they wear out and the material starts to break down. With that being said. The financial costs of a set of new prosthetics is roughly $7200. I thought it was $3600 but found out that's the cost per side. There is also costs for bras, lymphdema sleeves and gloves. All which I really need. I have fought many tears, emotional, and physical pain. Provided everything and more for what insurance requested and the answer was still No. I would be very grateful for any help with these costs. I have struggled with how to approach this situation and go fund me was what I came up with. I hope to raise the funds needed to purchase the items that I need.
