In January of 2013 our son Branden was diagnosed with Leukemia.  He was rushed to Iowa City and underwent intense chemotherapy and blood transfusions for 30 days.  At the end of those 30 days his cancer was in remission.  He came home and began a three year chemotherapy treatment plan.  He was doing great and our hopes were high.About 3 weeks ago he began to have pain in his hip.  He thought not much of this, until it became too painful to even walk.  On Thursday the 22nd of October he had a bone marrow biopsy.  On Friday he was told the cancer was back.  Our hearts sank.  He was put back into IMMC On Monday to begin the whole process of treatment again.  This time he will be in IMMC for 3 weeks or so.  They will hope to knock out the cancer again.  If they can do that, he will be sent to Iowa City for a bone marrow transplant.  His sister is a 100 percent match and for that we thank God.  She will donate stem cells or bone marrow to him.  She will be able to come home after that but Bran will stay.  Bran will be in Iowa City for 6-8 weeks while we wait and see if the bone marrow or stem cells produce cancer free bone marrow in his system. When Bran was first sent to Iowa City we were in an emergency reaction mode.  We took out loans.  Our families went above and beyond to help us out with the hotel.  Our friends and our work donated money and gas cards to ease our burden.  We were blessed beyond belief and humbled by their generosity.  This time we are not under the gun to get to Iowa City so we are able to focus on preparing for the expenses that will be associated with 6 to 8 weeks of traveling back and forth to Iowa City and staying in a hotel.  I have never done this, but we need help with this.  We cannot do this alone.  We will do everything we can to fund this, but we are asking for your help.If you can, we are asking for donations to help us during this time.  We will use any amount you can spare to assist us in gas, lodging, and food for those 6-8 weeks.  I cannot thank you enough for considering this.  If you can donate just follow the steps set forth on the “Go Fund Me” web site.  Again, thank you so very much.  Kyle and Michelle Bissell
