Welcome to my crowd-funding campaign page!! For anyone visiting who doesn't know me, my name is Bonnie Dean and I am happy to have you here. What is the situation?Four and a half years ago, I was diagnosed with an agressive form of breast cancer. Although I had a lumpectomy and a couple lymph nodes removed 6 months following diagnosis (no other standard treatment i.e. chemotherapy, radiation, drugs), a biopsy a year later showed additional cancer. Since that time, I have been pursuing natural/holistic approaches to healing.Because of the many healing modalities I've understaken in the last 4 years, I have remained in vibrant health and healed many, many things on an emotional, mental, and spiritual level. The journey has been one of the most incredible of my entire life!! Although ultrasounds over the last few years have indicated a stability in the cancer, recently I had a CT scan which indicated metastasis to my liver, lungs, and behind the breast bone. Certainly, this was a bit shocking and more recently I started experiencing symptoms of stabbing pain in my breast and difficulty breathing. What am I raising money for? My choice for treatment is to work with several holistic options. Unfortunately, none of the costs are covered by the healthcare system in Canada (Alberta), so the entire cost comes out of my own pocket and from the generosity of family, friends, and others in the community who feel called to support. I am currently undergoing treatment at the Hope4Cancer Clinic in Mexico. The money raised is paying for this treatment which will cost $65,000 - $90,000 Canadian).How soon will I need the funds?To date, about 1/3 of the cost to cover the treatment has been raised and the remaining amount has been borrowed to pay for the basic program. To continue the protocols after two months, I will need to pay a minimum of an additional $2500 per month to cover the cost of the medicine. It is recommended that this medicine be taken for a minimum of 6 months.
