My beautiful brother Bo and his angel Nina have been to hell and back. For the last decade a meningioma brain tumor the size of a lemon was slowly but surely killing him, causing unspeakable pain, migraines, eventual blindness, cognitive decline, and what we now know are mini seizures. For years Bo had been trying to start his own cleaning/carpentry business but was unable to consistently work full-time due to symptoms of this terrible demon of a tumor. It was discovered on June 6th and he was rushed for surgery one week later, on June 13th. The removal of the tumor was successful, but had some complications resulting in a mini-stroke, broken fragments of the skull, and holes which required a second surgery to repair a brain fluid leak. Currently, he is on a long journey of recovery while his brain moves back into place and up to a two-year recovery for the skull to fuse back together, and has been restricted from certain work activities and driving for six months due to seizures, so he is also obviously unable to work at this time as well. Bo was hoping to return to work and start building up his business by the fall, but due to his restrictions and increased risk of infection and stroke, it’s hard to predict how long it will take him to resume normal life and work full time. As you can imagine there are highs and lows throughout healing, and added to the emotions is the stress caused from the uncertainty of when he will be able to resume work, build his life back and help support his family. We are hoping for your help in offsetting the additional financial stress as he recovers so he can focus his energy where it is served best – on healing! Please help this beautiful family as they get back on their feet and let’s give Bo Dean the chance he deserves at a NEW LIFE!! Bo has given us so much life and laughter on his journey and he deserves the world! Thank you SO much in advance. -Josie
