Hi, my name is James T Ahearn and I'm raising funds for our dearest family friend Delia Islas. Delia is a hard-working mom of three, which unfortunately on July 2024 when she was in a car accident the air bag deployed and broke a rib causing a lot of pain. The pain instead of improving got worse. Difficulty sleeping, walking, and taking deep breaths. Delia was referred to the Oncologist at University of Iowa, where after a few exams and biopsy, she has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma which is a cancer that forms in a type of white blood cell called a plasma cell. In multiple myeloma, cancerous plasma cells accumulate in the bone marrow and crowd out healthy blood cells (Mayo Clinic). Delia has been going though a process of chemotherapies and now she will be heading to UChicago Medicine Center in Chicago, IL where she will have to stay there for almost a month while the specialists medical team insert back plasma cells. Delia hasn’t been able to work since her car accident back in July 2024 and all her savings are gone. That is why I thought of doing this fundraising to help Delia stop worrying about her bills and focus more on her health and well-being. Thnak you and God Bless you!
