Hello friends from home. I am doing this fundraiser for Kelly Allegret. She has been in the hospital for a couple of weeks and is very ill. She has a genetic heart condition, her mom and Aunt also had it. She was diagnosed about thirteen years ago and has been seeing a cardiologist since. She also has Afib and got a defibrillator a few years back. The short version is they have been treating the Afib and not the genetic issue. Treating the symptom and not the cause. So now she is going to have to get a heart transplant. The good news is she is an excellent candidate for one so far. The condition that is causing the problem is called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and it causes the heart muscle to thicken and harden because it is having to work so hard. She will not go back to work for several months. She has a good job with benefits. But until she completes the paperwork she doesn’t know exactly what her income will be. So Im hoping to help offset some initial costs of being at home full time. For example, a cleaning service or meal delivery service. Anything to make her more comfortable.
