Many of you may already know, but for those that do not, I will take a moment to update you. In January, my dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 Esophageal cancer. By the time it was diagnosed, it had already spread to his liver, and quickly. He started on chemotherapy, as well as many holistic approaches to maintain the cancer and give him an upbeat quality of life. Through many hospital visits and procedures, he has had a stent placed in his artery as well as a paracentesis to drain 4L of fluid, immediately following a blood transfusion. Our guy has been such a soldier through this battle, and at this time has decided to stop chemotherapy and take different approaches. The first plan of action is getting him into MD Anderson in Texas for clinical trials that may help combat this. We are hoping for a great outcome, but if those efforts fail, he would like to try "Hope For Cancer" in Mexico. As I'm sure you can imagine, these things are very expensive to do. On top of the medical expenses already accrued. If you know Bill, then you know that this man has spent his whole life taking care of others, giving opportunities to those less fortunate, and making it his first priority to put others before himself. This is our time to show him how much he is loved, appreciated and supported, by helping him get the care he needs. Anything helps. Let's show him what he means to us. "Bill's Battle" has been nothing short of difficult. We can do this together. His fight is our fight.
