Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers, We come to you today with heavy hearts and a deep sense of urgency as we share the story of Bijou Bell, a talented musician whose life took a devastating turn following a traumatic brain injury. Monday night, July 10th, 2024, Bijou was involved in an accident while skateboarding. Though the details remain unclear, she somehow managed to make it home despite the immense pain and confusion she was experiencing. It wasn't until the next day, when she woke up feeling the full impact of a concussion, that she confided in a friend about her symptoms. Recognizing the severity of her condition, she was taken to the emergency room. The medical professionals discovered that Bijou had sustained a fractured skull, specifically in the basal occipital region, brain bleeds, a major concussion, and a skull laceration. She spent considerable time in the ICU and is currently continuing her recovery in the neuro unit at Renown Regional Medical where she faces significant challenges on her road to regaining her health. We want to emphasize the incredible role that friendship and community have played in Bijou's journey so far. It was through the support of compassionate friends that she was encouraged to seek medical attention, leading her to the emergency room, and ultimately saving her life. The power of friendship and the outpouring of love from her community have been vital in these challenging times. Bijou's close-knit community is shaken by this tragic event, and they have come together in an inspiring display of solidarity. Through platforms like Venmo, and an upcoming Benefit Concert, they have rallied to support Bijou financially, ensuring that she can focus on her recovery without the added burden of financial strain. Witnessing this incredible display of unity has shown us the true strength and compassion that lies within this community. We are immensely grateful for every act of kindness, every contribution, and every message of encouragement that has poured in for Bijou. Together we can make a lasting impact on her recovery journey and help her reclaim her passion for music. We humbly ask for your support in any way you can.
