Hello, this fundraising initiative is for one of my dearest friends, Betty Means, who has spent her life caring for and supporting others. Betty is the mother of two beautiful children who have now grown into respectable young adults. I've had the great fortune of observing Betty as she nurtured and worked tirelessly to provide them with every opportunity possible to be well-rounded and successful - job well done! I've also had the privilege of witnessing Betty compassionately care for her lovely mother who, for many of her later years, struggled with Alzheimer's disease. In addition, I've watched Betty dedicate countless hours to loving and supporting her siblings, friends, clients, four-legged companions, and even strangers. Betty was diagnosed with stage three ovarian cancer seven weeks ago. As a result of her symptom progression and treatment need, Betty had to stop working. Contributing to the challenge of battling cancer, Betty is single and self employed. She has been a licensed and practicing massage therapist for twenty plus years - a life choice, again, supporting others! This circumstance has left her extremely vulnerable. Without being able to work, Betty has no salary to meet her standing monthly expenses much less the medical bills soon to arrive. For those of you who know Betty and those who don't, she is much too modest to ask for any assistance - one of her endearing qualities. However, if there was ever a time she could benefit from some of the love and nuturing she's bestowed through the years, the time is now! The amount of gratitude that will follow any contribution made to Betty is immeasurable.
