Ben and his brother Sam have run a free youth basketball camp every summer since 1997, donating their time to teach kids the fundamentals of the game and share their love of hooping. Unfortunately, on this, the 27th year, Ben suffered a serious injury on the court. Initial examination shows that Ben has a ruptured Achilles tendon, and it will require surgery. This means that he will have to shift gears at work, taking on a more managerial approach during projects. It also means we will need to bring in some more help, in the form of employees, while Ben recovers. We currently do not have the savings to handle this transition. Not only is Ben the sole breadwinner in our house, but he's also the only driver (we will be working to remedy this soon). In the meantime, we may need to pay someone to drive Ben to and from work. We will also likely have major medical costs associated with his recovery. He will need a knee scooter, a chair with wheels (not to be confused with a wheelchair), and therapies and procedures that are not covered by our insurance. Recovery will take many months, so we greatly appreciate any and every bit of help. Our family appreciates you all so much and we thank you for your kindness and for looking out for our family during this challenging time. It's going to be a very, very difficult time for us while we get Ben up and moving again, but I know we will make it through this with your help!
