Hi, my name is Sacha and I am fundraising for my sweet Bear Bear's road to recovery from Pneumonia. On Sunday April 30th, before leaving the mall my husband and I took our three babies to the pet shop. Little did we know, GOD had other plans. Bear had been there almost one whole month. He was supper shy and just scared. After spending almost 40 minutes with him, we left to go on home. As we were walking out of the mall my husband says, "We can't leave him there. We need to go get him!" We prayed about and went back and saved that baby! A few days after bringing Bear home at 5 months old, we noticed quite a bit of coughing. After a visit to the vet, she prescribed us meds for Kennel cough. After a week, there was no improvement. Back to the vet where x-rays were done that brought us such horrible news. Bear was suffering from SEVERE Pneumonia. His lungs were failing him. The vet said getting him on oxygen would be the best bet at that moment but I was not equipped for that expense! The vet went another route and started him on double antibiotics. After the first round there was some improvement and we were so happy to be headed in the right direction! Well fast forward almost 10 weeks, the medication has failed and he is not progressing. After a visit today, due to not eating for two days and coughing up loads of phlegm, the vet has decided that Bear needs a specialist to further his testing. His lung has a damaged lobe and his airways are so small. They have reffered us to internal medicinen where they can perform tracheal wash for a culture and some blood work as well. Once that is tested they can go from there to see what bacteria/fungal infection is hurting his baby lungs! To do this he'll have to be put under. I was informed that this will get expensive and unfortunately I do not know how else to handle this situation! We want our baby to get his life back and enjoy his puppy stage! As of right now, I am unsure of what else is to come. Once I get him an appointment with the specialist, I will have a better idea of what to expect and will update on EVERYTHING! I believe in the power of prayer. The vet said if I did not get him to her when I did, he would not have made it! God has a plan for this baby! Getting him out of that pet store was the beginning!
