Our friend Barrett went into the hospital with a sore back on July 7th. After insisting on an X-ray they discovered he was suffering a 50% compression fracture in his L3 vertebrae. This triggered an MRI and CT scan to find that he had lesions formed on his L3 and L4 vertebrae, as well as his left hip. Unfortunately meaning that the fracture was pathological in nature. After a few long weeks in hospital and a bone marrow biopsy we’ve discovered the final diagnosis is multiple myeloma (the stage is yet to be determined). Though this is a cancer we can keep at bay for a while, it is currently incurable. With 3 kids at home and a fight ahead we are looking to take some of the pressure off the family by helping fund their journey. This can help with monthly bills and possible upgrading to medications that are proven more effective to help them get as much time together as possible. We appreciate any support and love from our community and are anxious to get going on the chemo trail. Donations of food and meal gift cards to help the family are also available @ https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/yk64el?mibextid=9R9pXO Let the fight begin.
