Dear friends, We are a few of the many fortunate people whose lives were touched by Eric Barber. Last week, on July 9th, 2024 at the young age of 54, Eric passed away in his sleep while recovering from heart surgery. We grieve for the loss of a loving father, brother and friend. He was always the most giving person in the room and always ready to make us smile with a good joke or funny observation. His affection was shared broadly and had no limits. These last couple of years, the Barber family suffered many tragic losses. Less than 2 years ago, Raquel Barber passed away after a long-fought battle with breast cancer, leaving three children without a mother and Eric Barber without his beloved wife. Eric’s father Michael Barber, the only living grandparent, had helped with the kids when Raquel was first diagnosed, but 6 months prior to losing their mother, the Barber kids’ Grandfather passed away. The children continued to thrive through these difficult times as Eric’s strength was rooted in being an amazingly loving and involved father. At Eric’s funeral, we heard his children’s bittersweet speeches. They held their composure as most of us wept. In a moment of such immense emotion, Meir, Gaby, and Chaim all seemed to be aware of the responsibility the road ahead holds. This fund is to help alleviate some of the burden as the main financial supporter in their lives is no longer around. Meir Barber is 22 years old and just graduated from Florida Atlantic University. He was accepted into the master’s program in Information Technology at FAU that he plans on starting in August. Gaby Barber is 20 and is currently in an accelerated program at Lynn University en route to get her undergraduate degree in psychology. Gaby also plans on attending graduate school. Chaim Barber is 15 years old and going into his junior year of high school. Eric was incredibly proud of his children, and they felt so loved and supported by him. At the funeral, Meir said that if his dad owned the world, he'd give it up for free for the ones he loved. We are asking you to support this LFEBridge page with whatever amount you are able. The money will go directly to assist with the Barber children’s expenses including their higher education. Money can't replace the love and affection that Eric provided, but it can help Meir, Gaby and Chaim pursue their dreams. Thank you in advance for your support and please share this link with your friends and family if you wish.
