Following on from the devastating fire at the London Road (Baldock) Industrial area site on Tues 11th July (which either fully destroyed or seriously damaged over 40 businesses) London Road Studios & Rehearsal Rooms have been closed for a week whilst the damage was assessed and the site was closed off to all. The site is now open for the remaining 50+ businesses and their customers. Whilst we are one of the very lucky businesses that haven't been damaged, we have already haemorrhaged a substantial amount in lost earnings and revenue. Our 2 units (+ a storage unit) escaped any damage but were left without power or water. Power is now reconnected (as of today 18th July) however the water supply to the entire site currently has no date for restoration or continuation of service, it could be weeks or months until this is rectified. In order for us to legally open, we will be paying weekly for chemical (Portaloos) and sealed bottled water for our customers to drink, along with water bowsers for hand washing + sanitiser gel, all of the above again comes at a considerable cost (£££) We're asking for a small donation from the local community, our customers, bands, acts etc, to help pay towards these losses and the above-mentioned facilities, whilst we get back on our feet over the coming weeks and months. Whilst it is a difficult thing for us to ask for help, London Road and its staff have donated a lot of time, money and equipment over our 18-year history, to charity events and fundraisers. We massively appreciate any support, no matter how small.
