It’s Katie, This evening while at work, I got a call from my dad who is visiting me up the in the mountains. He found my 9 month old puppy had gotten up onto the counter and taken my two albuterol canisters off the counter and eaten them. Her symptoms were clearly those of Albuterol Toxicity. I live in Leadville, Colorado and being after 11pm at night, the closest ER for animals is in Denver (1 hour and 40 minutes away). I left work and rushed home to dad and her and I drove like a madman down to Denver. Immediately upon arrival to the ER, based on her condition, she was admitted to the ICU. She will be there for most likely 3 days under constant monitoring. She is being heavily treated in an attempt to prevent cardiac arrest. if you follow me on social media, you know I love dogs. I have three rescue dogs that are my world. Clover is the youngest at 9 months old. I try to give them the best life possible up in the mountains! I work as an EMT in the emergency room and being honest, I make $21 an hour. The hospital let me know that I’m looking at around $6,000+ to treat and save her life. I cannot lose this baby and refuse to let money stop me. But with the cost of living out here, and my income, I’m paycheck to paycheck these days. I am most humbly asking for help for these bills because I’m just not fiscally able to pay these credit cards off once they process this. If you can’t spare money, please just send some good energy for clovers health and recovery!
