I have two worthy charities in mind. Both are based in India, Nadiad Gujarat. We can make an impact on both as one is quite small. One is a baby orphanage and the other is supporting the poor and vulnerable.    Give unwanted new born babies a chance in life. Matruchhaya Orphanage It is unfortunate but the reality of life that some new born babies are unwanted, for many reasons, parents cannot afford to keep them, disabled, special needs are born out of wedlock or are considered ‘ugly’ or the wrong gender. These babies are left at the doors of the baby ashram that I have in mind to be cared for by volunteers. About 50 babies arrive there every year. The ashram relies on charity donations for milk, clothing, food, shelter and stimulating toys. Approximately 10 babies get adopted each year and the remainder stay in the ashram until the age of 5 after which they are sent on to school to be educated, kept safe and kept off the streets. I would like to raise money for these helpless and innocent babies.    What happens when you are alone, poor and vulnerable and unable to care for yourself? Jai Manu Seva Parivar Please see the video link below for a closer look: https://youtu.be/bVWQXZ77LtY There are very poor and vulnerable people that are left completely alone and are unable to feed or look after themselves. This place is like an old people’s home for about 300 people. They get cared for by volunteers and get regular medical attention. They are given simple little tasks to do if they are able to help around the home and keep busy, like sewing or chopping vegetables or they just rest. They are provided with meals and given snacks that are available for them to help themselves day and night. They are taken on little religious outings, and often have kirtan in the day. Their basic needs are completely fulfilled whilst they live out their time. Their funerals are also arranged with wood for the funeral provided by the home along with the performing of religious ceremonies after they have passed on.    There are some people that still live alone at their own home but are too old and vulnerable and cannot afford or are unable to make any meals. The home also delivers 1500-2000 meals on wheels a day straight to their homes once a day. A little extra food is provided in the tiffins so they can eat a little more food later.    My target is to raise at least £1800 by Aug. I can do it but only with your help. It’s a time to reflect and think others.
