My niece, Ava is the light in our family.  She has Down Syndrome and before her 1st bday she had heart surgery.  She then contracted Influenza A and had a stroke which left her left arm almost useless and her left leg developed into gangrene which then was amputated above the knee. She also lost use of one kidney.in the past 9 years since, she was able to scoot around with her remaining leg with her butt on the ground. Through Shriners she was able to get therapy, her continual need for prosthetics (she grew out of them) and her wheelchair.  She was always smiling, babbling and talking (a few key phrases and words)!  Ava was known for hugging, even strangers.  She is smart & loves music and Dancing with the Stars. On 10/15/15 she suffered a series of strokes, leaving her right side paralyzed and no longer speaking. Her left arm which was previously not moving is involuntarily moving -constantly keeping her awake unless heavily medicated. She is scheduled for Brain Surgery for Moyamoya Syndrome. Please pray for her and her mom. Our family will help as much as we can with giving Claudia relief so she can get sleep. We would appreciate any help financially because the bills will begin to come soon.thank you for anything you can give, please share with kind friends.
