Hello!!Thank you for taking your time to read this :) My adorable 1 year old puppy, August escaped from my car Tuesday morning 10/20/2015. I was not able to catch up with him as he ran off. After searching all the surronding neighborhoods posting multiple flyers out to the public, online, visiting animal shelters, I am relieved that August was found by a good samartian and was taken into the vet. I was doing my rounds of posting flyers all around the neighborhood and park until I received a call from the vet's office. They have August!! :) what a relief!! The bad news: August has been hit by a car. He was in shock and in tremendous pain and was not functioning properly. The vet was nice enough to take August into her own home and care for him as they continued to search for his owner (me). He is severely bruised from the stomach and below from the car accident. The horrible news: The vet gave me 2 options:option 1: leg amputation option 2: surgery to keep his rear right leg.The cost of the leg amputation as estimated from the vet is between $1,800 - $2,300 and asking 50% down. The cost of surgery to keep his leg is estimated between $3K- $4k.I had to step down from working full time due to my severe anxiety and depression, I am working super part time now, hoping to improve myself mentally for my future career. August means the world to me and my family. While at work my elderly mother loves to hang with him as they watch soap operas and he just loves to snuggle with my autistic sister. Their heart broke once they found out he has been hit by a car and would need immediate surgery to ease his pain away. Right now, August is being watched over by the wonderful vet that took him in to her own home. He is scheduled for operation this Tuesday, October 27th. I am not expecting to receive a huge amount of help, but would be forever and ever grateful to have at least 50% of the leg amputation cost down to help my little guy. If a miracle happens I would forever be in debt to save his leg, but my main priority is for him not to be in pain anymore. Any help will be a blessing and ALL the funds will go strictly and directly to helping August. Thank you again for taking your time to read August's story :)
