I currently live with my Fiancee Jennifer Biddle, our roommate Nathan Smith, and our two dogs Papi and Tasha, in a 1 bedroom apartment in Phoenix. Last December, I contracted Covid-19 and lost my job because of it. I was unemployed for almost 7 months until getting a job with Amazon in June. I still have that job, and I think it is amazing. Jennifer collects disability, and Nathan contributes what he can. Our issue is this: During my extended period of unemployment, we fell behind on the rent for 2 months. Our eviction court case was on July 20th, 2024. In order to keep from getting locked out of our apartment, we had to cut a deal with the complex: 5 payments of $1079, one each week until the beginning of September, When we would be current. We made the first payment on this on July 25th, the next payment is due on August 1st, and so on. Working for Amazon, I get paid biweekly and make about $1160 per check. Jen gets her disability monthly, which will be able to cover one of the payments. The problem is, even putting all of our money into it, we would still be short 1 payment and would have little money to pay bills and buy gas for me to get to work. Food is covered, thankfully. I'll be honest, I'll be happy if we only manage to raise the $1079 that we need, but I set the goal at $2000 to help cover the other expenses we have. I am asking you, as a fellow human being, please help. Every little bit gets us closer to our goal. Thank you.
