We, Keith, Rebecca, Matilda and Megan Jones have created this fundraising page for the Chens, our daughter Matilda's biological family in China. We are raising funds to help with medical bills and other related expenses for her biological father, Chen AiMin. On May 8, 2024, AiMin tragically fell from the roof of an old home while working in construction. Remarkably, he lived through this event but has suffered a major brain injury that needs much rehabilitation. Initially, along with a large hematoma, he could not move his right leg or arm and lost his ability to speak, as well as other injuries and traumas. Since then, AiMin has already made incredible progress. After much prayer, treatment, and the support of his family, he can walk on his own! This is a testament to his determination and ability to heal. This event has taken AiMin and his wife, SanXiu, from a small rural village to a large faraway city and has left them with a financial burden that is hard to recover from, not to mention the emotional and physical trauma they are enduring. There is still a long road ahead to get his life back. He still cannot use his right arm and is unable to speak. The duration of his treatment and the extent of his limitations are unknown but we are very encouraged by the healing he has already experienced. Our family has had the privilege of getting to know the Chens since 2016, after discovering a DNA match with our daughter. In 2018, we were able to meet in person at their home in Ningdu, China. What we experienced there validated what we already knew from the chats over the previous years. This is a kind and loving family who works hard and is generous. We cannot speak highly enough of their character and the positive interactions we’ve had with them. They are part of our family and we cannot imagine what they are going through with the amount of change in their daily lives. On behalf of the Chen family, we thank you for opening your hearts and considering donating financially, no matter how big or how small. Every little bit will help. Please feel free to share this fundraising page with friends and family. We appreciate your prayers and generosity as you help and encourage this wonderful family that is worlds away and yet very close to our hearts. God bless you all.
