Hello everyone! My name is Abbey Miller and I am a sophomore at Western Kentucky University majoring nursing. I have been accepted for an oppurtunity of a lifetime to study abroad onboard the Spring 2016 Semester at Sea voyage. Semester at Sea is a prestigious study abroad program where students study onboard a ship while traveling to 11 different countries, 15 cities, for 101 days. While onboard the ship, I will be taking 4 classes ranging from Marine Biology to Public Health to Illegal Drugs in Global History. Each class emphasizes hands-on field experiences, mixed with meaningful engagement in the global community. As you can imagine this program is rather pricey, but it is truly a once in a lifetime learning experience. The approximate cost of the voyage is $34,450.-SAS tuition/fees: $23,950-Flights/transportation/Lodging: $4,000-Books/Field Study Programs: $3,000-Visas/Immunizations/Medications:$3,000-Misc.( Personal Comm., Outside Travel):$1,000I am proud to say that I have raised $24,400 thus far, which includes $19,400 in scholarships and grants and $5,000 in personal savings. Unfortunantly, I still need approximately $10,000.This is truly a once in a lifetime adventure that I couldn't be more excited to take, and I hope you will consider helping me reach my goal.
