Dear family and friends, As you may already know, my mother, Connie Cothren, recently suffered a severe fall that caused a hematoma (brain bleed) in her left frontal lobe. Her roommate found her and called an ambulance. She was immediately taken to Saint Johns Hospital, then life-flighted to PeaceHealth Southwest in Vancouver. Despite undergoing brain surgery, the first one was unsuccessful, and she had to undergo a second surgery to remove a piece of her skull to give room for swelling. After spending two weeks in the ICU and a month in intensive care, she was moved to a rehabilitation center to help her regain her speech, ability to walk, and relearn how to read. She is now living with us continuing weekly visits with ST, PT, and OT while she continues recovery. We are currently waiting for an opening to get her last brain surgery scheduled, and get her skull piece back on. As you can imagine, this has been an incredibly difficult time for our family. We are hoping to raise funds to help cover any medical expenses that we may incur, and help with some living expenses. We would greatly appreciate any support you can offer as we navigate this challenging time. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
