When I met Antoinette Martignoni she was turning 86. At the time she was the fire marshal in her building. Her calendar was filled with social appointments and portrait clients. She drove around town in a manual transmission car and she loved Chris Williamson's "Waterfall."Today Antoinette is on the brink of becoming 97 years young and while she has let go of the car and created more "down" time for herself, she is still the go-to person in the building when residents forget their keys, still has a calendar with more appointments than most of us half her age, still takes on portrait clients, and still loves "Waterfall."Her curiosity continues to inspire all who know her and she is often found with groups of much younger people at her table sharing and learning and exploring. It is, however, getting harder for Antoinette to hear, especially when there is more than one person in the room.As vital as ever, those of us who adore her can't imagine a world where we couldn't visit Miss A to gain her wisdom and share a laugh, to explore her love of art, of Fast Company magazine, of Charlie Rose,To that end, we are starting this campaign to help raise money for Antoinette to purchase Eargo, a new technology in hearing aids. Visit www.Eargo.com for more info. At half the price of conventional hearing aids and often more effective, we hope they will provide Miss A with the ability to not miss a single word!Hearing aids are not covered by Medicare/Medicaid so we are asking for contributions of any size to purchase these amazing devices for Miss A.
