On August 5th 2024, the Beattie family’s life was turned upside down. Their youngest child of three, Annalynn, was feeling under the weather with some mysterious rashes, lethargy and a high temperature. Her Mother rushed her to Vernon Jubilee Hospital where they preformed multiple tests. A few hours later, 3 year old Anna was diagnosed with the shattering news and every parents worst nightmare, Leukemia. The medical term for Anna's diagnosis of Leukemia is - Childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia, the good news is its the most responsive to treatment as her kidneys and liver are still functioning, however treatment for Anna could take years to accomplish. Heather and Ryan Beattie are both incredible teachers in our small town of Armstrong, BC. These amazing parents have donated an immeasurable amount of time and energy helping the children and youth of our community. Now it’s their turn to receive some help in any we can with this devastating diagnosis. As they prepare to head to Children’s hospital, please consider donating financially to assist with costs for: - Medication that is not covered under MSP - Commuting back and forth from Armstrong to Vancouver Children's Hopsital for Ryan, James and Mackenzie, while Heather stays with Anna. - Lost wages in the time needed to support Annalynn at the hospital - Additional gas and food expenses The amount of time Annalynn will need to remain at the hospital for treatment is unknown. Anna is where she needs to be at this time. Let us all pray, wish, send healing vibes or whatever it is you believe in, that the treatment will be successful for the best possible outcome. We hope that Annalynn is going to prosper and heal quickly, surrounded by family, friends and a community who adore her. Thank you to everyone who is able to help us ease this financial burden for The Beattie Family.
