Please help fund my student Angel's trip to Europe. I lead the senior class trip at the charter high school I work at. Every year I recognize that I have to leave some students behind. The reality is that I teach at a school of predominantly lower income students and I am fortunate that even some of the families can afford to spend the money over the 2 years it take to pay for this life changing trip. Too many of them cannot or their student has no real desire to attend. Angel's family is not able to afford this yet Angel has always wanted to go. I know that his mom wants him to go and feels just as bad as I do that they cannot afford to give him this. I feel so strongly that he deserves this trip that I have asked him to try GoFund Me. I nearly created it with out him! Here's why I care: Angel is a gifted art student in my classes and a wonderful young man. Things haven't been easy for Angel or his family but Angel continues to do well in school and work hard to please his hardworking mom. As his art teacher and faculty advisor I have watched Angel mature and grow as he continued to face the struggles in his life. But along with his hardwork have been disappointments that leave him feeling frustrated, unable to change things, and angry sometimes. I wanted him to start this LFEBridge so he could experience Europe but also so he could learn that there are great folks out there who care that he gets this opportunity.The deadline for Angel to join the trip is of November 30th! I asked Angel to decribe why this trip is important to him: Hello my name is Angel and I am a senior in high school. It would be an honor if I was able to go to my senior class's trip to Europe. This trip will not only allow me to travel and explore a country that I can only dream of visiting but I hope that this trip will allow me to open up other possible doors for the future. Unfortunately I cannot attend the trip due to the fact that my parent's income is not enough to make it possible for me to go. I am not an only child. Together they have to support my little brother, little sister, and I. One of the reasons that I want to go on the trip is that I will be able to create a closer bond with my siblings by telling my stories and adventures. These stories will not only entertain them but I hope will also inspire them to do well in high school and to also be inspired to go to college. If I am able to go to this trip I will be able to be the perfect role model for them showing them that hard work pays off. In the end I plan to inspire my siblings to try their best at school so that they too will work hard and do well in school. I hope to demonstrate that they can do it themselves with their hard work, grit, and determination. As for myself, as an aspiring artist I hope to take these memories with me to college where I plan to study art. Being able to see European art and architecture will have a lasting affect on me as on artist. Maybe one day if possible I plan to return to Europe to enrich my career.
