Short version: WE ARE ADOPTING!! Long version: We wanted to announce this once things were official, but we realize that we are still far from that point. As many of you know, my cousin Skyler passed away 19 days ago, leaving behind her 6-month-old baby girl. After much prayer and tons of conversations with people we trust, Max and I have joyfully decided to begin the process of adopting baby Anastasia Tomorrow, Max and I, along with my aunt (Skyler’s momma) and grandparents, have a court hearing in the hopes of gaining guardianship over Ani. This will allow us to bring her home to Illinois and begin the adoption process. I am sharing this because Max and I are in need of support and prayers. Good Lawyers come with a large price, and adoption, even in the case of kin adoption, can be financially burdensome. It's not something I feel comfortable asking for, and typing this out is genuinely uncomfortable for me, BUT we truly need all of you. We need our community. Max and I are prepared to move mountains for Ani. We are willing to do whatever it takes to ensure her safety and provide her with a stable home. I firmly believe that God has been preparing our hearts for a long time to love and care for Ani, and now that we have reached this point, we need your help in making her officially ours, so that no one can ever take her away. If you are able to contribute financially, that would help us a lot. We also ask for your prayers for Max, myself, and our incredible attorney tomorrow at 8:30 AM EST.
