Hello, my names is Melissa Dillard. I am looking to raise funds for my granddaughter, Laura Lynn, to help get an accessible vehicle. Laura Lynn was born very premature and had a brain bleed at birth. This resulted in her diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy. It has severely affected her motor control. She is unable to walk or stand without assistance, and uses her wheelchair a majority of the time for mobility. She currently uses a handicap car seat, but is getting too heavy to lift for just one person. The car seat is also very uncomfortable to her, and she is unable to ride long distances without discomfort. She has poor trunk control and is unable to ride in a vehicle without a car seat. An accessible vehicle would be a wonderful attribute to her family (my daughter and son in law, Shelby and Cody Brown) and help things tremendously in her mobility. Unfortunately, the cost of an accessible vehicle starts around $45,000. Any amount would help a lot if you feel led to give or sharing this post on your social media page. Thanks so much for your time. God bless. ******Update******* Laura Lynn’s family was able to get a van that they can covert to an accessible van. We only need to raise $15,000 to cover this! Thank you all so much for helping our family. It means so much to us.
