Hi, our names are Rebecca Rico and Cindy Koder We have been friends with Amy Kahn for over 25 years and are raising money for her to start her journey through Breast Cancer. She has been diagnosed with type A2 breast cancer and will be going into surgery on August 8th. 2024 Amy will be using the funds for co-pays, out-of-pocket and monthly expenses. Amy has been an Art teacher in Colorado for over 12 years. She also makes beautiful jewelry. She is a single parent and raises Simon who is 13, they love and enjoy musicals and the theater. The message below is from Amy herself: Today I am sharing my fight with breast cancer. I went in for a routine mammogram, thinking it was just a task to get out of the way. I had missed the year before since my doctor said I could go every two years. I now know that you should never skip a mammogram and you should go every year no matter what. My mammogram came back abnormal and thus began my journey with breast cancer. I am having surgery on August 8th, which is just the beginning of a long unexpected journey for me. The cancer is also in my lymph nodes and I will have to have radiation after my surgery. I am learning the importance of self-care and how crucial it is to have a support system of family and friends who love and care for me. I am grateful for their unwavering support. In all, I encourage you all to get a mammogram every year.
