I don’t post a whole lot on Facebook/Instagram but this I thought I needed to share. On Saturday July 1, my 25 year old niece Monica (my sister Karen’s oldest daughter) went to the emergency room at the University of Penn with what she thought was strep throat, turned out that not only did Monica have Covid but she was also diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) which is a rare cancer that affects your bone marrow and blood. this news was heartbreaking and devestated Monica, Karen, her sisters and our family. Monica is a kind, caring, funny, full of energy, hard-working young girl who loves her dog Simon, Taylor Swift, food, going to concerts, and the beach. She graduated from Temple University and works as a waitress. This diagnosis Will have her out of work for sometime as well as my sister who has been by her side and will need to care for her when Monica is released from the hospital after her treatment. My goal is to raise funds to help alleviate some of the financial hardships that Monica will face we want her to focus on her self and getting herself better and not to have to worry about her bills or anything she needs to get through this. Our family would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support during this difficult time.
