UPDATE FROM THE FAMILY: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce our beautiful mama was called home to rest in embrace of our Lord on Saturday, July 29th. Our mom walked with many through their life storms, even while conquering her own - including her courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. She loved unconditionally & sacrificially, putting others above herself. She was humble and prayerful, a true warrior of God, always glorifying Him in all she did. She was an obedient servant of the Lord and willing vessel. While our hearts are so so heavy with mourning, we know the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and our mama is in peace and rejoicing with her Ama. Our family is preparing our mom for her celebration of life and we are humbly accepting donations for the funeral and other expenses via LFEBridge: Cashapp: $breastcancerwalk Venmo: @amelia-garcia-14 Zelle: We can send the information privately We will share information about her funeral and celebration of life when details are confirmed.” “I lift my eyes into the hills, Where does my help come from My help comes from the Lord, The maker of Heaven and earth” ‍♀️ Aimee Garcia INTRODUCTION: From the Contreras + Garcia Families We are reaching out on behalf of Amelia Garcia and Family. In August of 2024, Amelia was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cells - due to its severity she was forced to begin treament immediately following her diagnosis. AMELIA has braved through numerous treatments involving weekly travel to MD Anderson for chemotherapy and radiation, and a recent transplant requiring an 8 week stay in Houston. At the moment Amelia is hospitalized at MD Anderson following complications. While they stand by her side and remain hopeful, the cost of treatments, travel, lodging, and time off of work have become overwhelming for her loving husband and family. We are asking our community for support. A contribution of any size can help alleviate the burden, directly impacting their ability to keep up with the costs of treatments, travel, and time off work (to get her the care she needs and spend precious time by her side). We humbly ask for your prayers and support. We are truly grateful for the strength in our family and community. Please know that no donation is too small and we appreciate your prayers. We remain hopeful and dedicated to Amelia’s recovery. While knowing you want to spend time with her puts a smile on her face and fills us all with gratitude, Amelia needs all of her strength for healing and recovery. With that said, Amelia is not able to visit with family or friends outside of her caregivers. While she can’t accept visitors or phone calls at this time, we will gladly share your letters and emails with her. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers and support.
