Amanpreet Singh’s life changed on the 1st of July 2024. He had been feeling unwell for a few days and on the evening of 1st July started complaining of breathing difficulties. An ambulance was called and on the way to the hospital, he suffered a cardiac arrest. He was defibrillated and his heart was restarted. He suffered another cardiac arrest in the Emergency Department. For days he was in the ICU, it was discovered that he had developed multiple blood clots. He developed blood clots throughout his body, including his brain. He suffered a massive stroke and subsequent wasting of the right side of the body. Also, the blood supply to the left leg and the right arm is impaired which might result in losing them. Amanpreet is an ambitious young man who just turned twenty-nine in February. To say Amanpreet’s life was very rough is quite the understatement; when he was four, his father died, leaving his mother to solely provide for her two children. He was 26 when he left his family behind to go to Australia on a student visa. Even though Aman has a basic budget health insurance coverage with Allianz – it would not be nearly enough to cover all his medical bills, let alone the other costs associated with this event. Upon personally visiting him, I spoke with the doctor who gave me an idea of the total damage. Blood flow to his left leg has ceased completely and is entirely dead below the knee. His right arm is not moving, likely as a result of the stroke. His speech is affected to the extent that he only makes sounds in response to questions. His recovery is expected to be slow and lengthy. His medical bills are adding up rapidly, and represent a major stress for him and his family. Based on rough calculations, factoring in items such as Aman’s health insurance, the cost of not only the medical bills but his mom’s expenses for staying in Sydney as well will total roughly $150,000. They simply cannot afford to sustain this lifestyle at that high a cost and desperately need our help to build up a reserve pool of money to help them get through this very traumatic moment of their lives. Our present goal is to raise $80,000, as this will give them a very necessary boost. The rest is planned to be arranged through Amanpreet’s mother selling her personal property in India. However, this $80,000 will be a massive financial relief for the entire family and help them move forward in a positive direction as Amanpreet continues to heal from the massive devastation caused to his body by the blood clots. 100% of the funds received will go to Amanpreet's mum: Jaswindar Kaur. My name is Amandeep Sandhu and I'm Amanpreet's first cousin (bhua's daughter). As Jaswindar is new to Australia, Funds from LFEBridge account will go to my new account first and then be distributed to Amanpreet's mom, Jaswindar Kaur. I have added Amanpreet's other aunty and cousin as LFEBridge administrators so they can monitor the fund and its distribution to Jaswindar mamiji.
