On July 18th of this year, our friend, Althea Thomas went in for a routine surgical procedure. Unfortunately, she suffered a rare reaction to the anesthesia that has rendered her right leg paralyzed. She works as a transporter at HCA’s Fort Walton hospital and is constantly spreading kindness and joy to each patient that is lucky enough to have her help. Her ability to bring comfort to her patients as they are going through some of their hardest times is incredible. She is now facing her journey of recovery and we are hoping to give back as much as possible. She is receiving some benefits from work, however, they are not near what her full time pay work was. Please if at all possible help us to make money one less road block on Althea’s future path so that we can get her through the process of rehabilitation!
