My name is Susan Carry, I work as an accountant in Kells and, as a lifelong friend of the Reilly family, I'm organising this fundraiser for Tommie. On February 13th, 2024, musician Tommie was involved in a road accident that almost took his life. Fortunately, a Good Samaritan called Frankie came along and heroically called the emergency services and stayed with Tommie until they arrived. Tommie survived, but with life-changing trauma, most notably, an acquired brain injury. Since then Tommie has never left hospital, recovering in Beaumont, Drogheda & Monaghan Hospitals, and most recently in the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dun Laoghaire. Supported by his wife Annie, and daughters Molly (11) and Ava (22), his mother Eileen, his brother Padraig, sisters Rosetta, Miriam, Denise and all of their families, Tommie has fought with incredible courage and determination to defy the professionals and regain basic functions that we take for granted, talking, swallowing, and eating, standing and a few tentative steps. But Tommie deserves better than basic. He is a gifted musician and singer who gigged in the North East area and we need this Tommie back and back home with his family. Achieving this goal means countless future hours of therapy and rehabilitation over and above that provided by the HSE. So if you've ever enjoyed Tommie's music, or been regaled with his stories and his incredible sense of humour or if you simply can't imagine this happening to someone you love, please donate what you can to help. Monies received are All4Tommie to help him access the support and care he needs on his journey back to us all.
