On March 19, Alexandra and her partner Ryan were victims of a traumatic hit and run in Los Angeles while they were on electric scooters. After the car hit them, Alexandra suffered life-threatening injuries. She was unconscious and had seizures at the location of the accident and remained unconscious in the ambulance ride. Once admitted to the ICU it was determined she has four skull fractures, nasal fractures, facial and jaw fractures, and ear fractures making her deaf in her left ear. Her brain was bleeding and she was kept at the ICU for a week. Alexandra has been diagnosed with a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) and is scheduled to have ear surgery late July in hopes to restore her hearing. She is still draining blood from the brain requiring close monitoring. She suffers from short term memory loss, making it difficult to audition for roles. She has lost her sense of smell and taste as well.   Due to her injuries and physical limitations (including her brain still being swollen so she is unable to lift things)— she is still unable to work or drive. Because of her work history as an independent contractor she is ineligible for disability assistance, so she has had no fincancial income since March. Alexandra is continuing to deal with long term obstacles that were not initially anticipated. Recovery is taking much longer and medical bills are stacking up.  Unfortunately, the person who hit them has the lowest insurance policy so she will not be receiving nearly enough assistance from his insurance company. His insurance will barely be covering her week-long ICU stay and will not be covering the ambulance ride, future medical treatments, lawyer fees, income loss, trauma restitution, etc.    This has been an incredibly traumatic event not only physically but mentally for both Alexandra and Ryan. It’s become clear that Alexandra’s road to recovery is going to be a long one. We are asking from the bottom of our hearts for any support you can bring to her so that she can continue getting the medical support she desperately needs to treat her injuries (upcoming ear surgery, neuro-surgery appointments, neurology appointments, CT scans, ENT appointments, TMJ treatments, tailbone treatments, mental health therapy, and more).    It’s been difficult to come to terms with the need to ask the community for help. But we believe it is time after learning that she will not be receiving the justice or sufficient reimbursement that she desperately needs. Any amount you can provide is beyond appreciated.  Let’s help Alexandra get the justice she deserves.   Peace and love
